In the early days of Marvel Comics it was quite easy to keep up with all the characters that appeared in your favorite comic book. Then, as more issues were released, more heroes and villains were introduced, not to forget all the other secondary and supporting characters that appeared once in a while. Keeping up with all of these is no longer an easy task.
Within this Character Glossary section we will try stay up to date with basic information for every x-related character that has appeared in the comic books. We try to list all superpowered heroes and villains here, even if they were in only one issue, but supporting characters should have appeared a few times to get added to the list.
Characters from alternate realities have been given their own sections, though from such timelines we only use major characters or those drastically changed. In two categories, "Others" and "Non-Canon", we collected several characters that don't fit anywhere else. The continuity they belong can be easily identified by the brackets behind their names: (movie), (novels), etc.
Please do not send any updates that refer to recently released issues. Not all people receive their comics at the same time, and you might accidentally spoil the events of these issues to the people responsible for this section! Newer characters also frequently don't have much available information on them, and we often chose to wait for more detail before creating an entry. Currently, we really do not need any help in this department. Furthermore, only information released in the comics or official material is relevant to the bios. Anything mentioned or discussed on-line will NOT be added, so don't send us something a writer talked about on their message board!
