With the popularity of our "Spotlight On..." section, featuring in-depth biographies of heroes, the natural question arises of a series of Spotlight On... entries for villains. Unfortunately, while a good villain can turn up as often and unwelcome as a bad penny, in between their nefarious plans they rarely impart much of their personal history or recount tales of their formative years. As a result, much of their past remains a mystery. Likewise, stories entailing them do not always cover what happened to them in between their battles with heroes, or if they do it merely reflects a continuous cycle of their incarceration and escape.
Villains that do manage to develop such a history quickly find their way to our Spotlight On... section, such as Mystique, Juggernaut or Emma Frost. For those that do not, however, we have this section entitled "Bring on the Bad Guys." Although similar to the Spotlight concept, these articles are not entirely the same, as they focus somewhat on the character's motives, attempting to fill the gaps in what is seen on the page. They also may include some theories and speculation, in some cases including an author's voice/opinion.
