Has anyone picked this up yet? I'm debating it, because I actually enjoyed XIII, although I know the majority of people didn't, and I was wondering what anyone else might have thought of it...

I enjoyed XIII too. I thought the characters were great, the graphics beautiful and the gameplay fun...Yeah it was linear and the story wasn't up to bar but it was a marked improvement over FFXII.

I actually DID get FXIII-2.....so far the story is weak, very weak in fact. It could get better but I've heard it doesn't and that it might be DLC heavy(as in that's where the full story will be). The characters are just alright too. The time traveling is fun...The gameplay is good and challenging...

I don't know...honestly...If you enjoyed FFXIII you won't hate this, you'll at least like it, which is where I fall. In the middle. Some say it's improved, but so far I don't like it as much...But overall, I'd at least try and rent it....

I know, with this level of indecisiveness I should write video game reviews!

UPDATE: So just read an article and yes the story will be expanded(and maybe even continued) through DLC...So I don't know whether to like that or dislike it...At least I'm consistent.

So this games' been out for awhile now, with the final bits of DLC about to be released.

For those that did play it, how'd you like it?

I thought it was entertaining.  Not the best game i've ever played, by far.  But it was nice when paired with FFXIII.  I liked the quicker pace of the battles this time around...I went back and played XIII again to try to get the last few trophies after I finished XIII-2 and I was shocked at how much better the controls / pace of the battles were compared to the first.

I'm looking forward to the DLC that'll hopefully finish off the story.

I'm really enjoying FFXIII-2.  The post-story game is more fun than the actual storyline, even with Caius being one of the better villains of the entire game series, up there with the likes of Sephiroth and Kefka (and much better than the villain of XIII).  Add to that the monster hunting/capturing/training, I've been playing the game for at least twenty hours past the point of completely maxing out the main two characters.  I haven't done that with an FF game since Tactics.

I'd have to say, though, I actually enjoyed XII more than XIII, but XIII-2 more than XII.  The gambit setup was one of my favorite combat types.  I'm not sure how I'd feel about it now after the frenetic pace set by XIII's paradigm system, though.  I also really dug XII's story.  It reminded me of Tactics (which is good, since they share a universe).

Tactics is by far one of my favorite Final Fantasies.   I really hope they give it a proper sequel someday (fft advance/adv2 were great games...but i never really thought of them as sequels to the game)

i guess the final batch of dlc is coming out for ffxiii-2 this week or next.  i've been waiting on getting some of the extra colosseum battles and plan on getting a bunch of them with the final scenarios.
