We'll, you'd ruin your surprise and our cool revelation announcements if you did, wouldn't you? Nope, they are going to be revealed in the order we deem fit, in pairs of two, starting tomorrow.

Ha, I always was the kid that had to open his presents on Christmas eve. I guess I can wait.

I rattled off all but 2 of these pretty quickly. I'm stumped by the one all the way to the left side in particular.

Considering you won last time, that gives the rest of us chumps a glimmer of hope

Good thing I sent my answers in yesterday! I tried sending them in from work but apparently they didn't go through so I did it again from home.
I still have no idea about 7-8. To me 7 still looks like he(/she) could be anybody and Sunspot comes to mind most often (even though he recently got a spotlight). The last one I still haven't a clue besides which team she is a part of. The 3 most prominent females of that team come to mind but I could not find that pose for her.

Did someone win by naming all 8 correctly or did the comp end because the time was up?
Can't wait for the reveals. There are a few characters (well the ones I think I got right) who I have a soft spot for.
I hope whoever won picks a great character.

Welcome back everyone. Today, you’ll learn the identities of the first
two mystery characters. Let’s start with a few statistics, though.
Before we pulled the plug on the contest, twenty-two people sent in
their guesses. Twelve of these people tried solving the contest before the
release of the hints, and ten answer sheets arrived afterwards. Unfortunately,
three people had no forum identity, so no matter what characters they guessed
and how many they got right, we had to disqualifiy them from the competition
as we have no way of validating that they weren’t fake identities of people who
had already participated under their forum account.
At this point, we’d like to award Mr. Lance J.
Mealer an (imaginary) fair-play award, as he posted the following several days
ago at our Facebook presence: "I'd guess, but I don't have an
account and those are turned off signing up. I love the fact that you turned
that off, though. Nobody seems to think about people cheating and signing up
with multiple accounts. I commend you for thinking of something that most
overlook."
Now, with one prize already being handed out to a
non-contestant, let’s work our way to finding out who the actual winner of this
contest is.
There once was a boy named Colin
Whom bad guys had been followin’
He fled in a hurry
Returned very furry
Hoping to find his lost kin
Nearly every contestant managed to identify the distinctive shape of
Excalibur’s Kylun. Only one person, apparently not familiar with the Scottish
mutant, mistook him for the Silver Samurai.
Gosamyr was apparently a little bit harder to figure out. We recorded
three false answers for her. Strangely, someone submitted Zaladane, overlooking
that the woman had only recently received her profile entry in February 2012. Another
answer was Alpha Flight villain Dream Queen, actually a pretty good guess,
given that she has similar hair and wears a high-collared cape just the same. The third wrong answer was “Daydreamer”, leaving
us a bit puzzled. Either this person was referring to the Dream Queen too, or
some other Marvel character with no apparent X-connection.
Initially an alien stranger
Gosamyr posed a great danger
She was flamin' hot
and seduced Sunspot
Their romance did truly change her
The following contestants (in alphabetical order)
managed to get both Kylun and Gosamyr correct, and as such can still hope to be
the winner of the contest:
_Rick_, angelus, Anna Raven, bjdonahue, Crawler, Dr. House, Elixir86, Faded,
Gibbering Fool, Gremlin, Havok73, medium13, Providence, QDLux29, Quick and
Dead, sambadaemon, Zared
Enjoy the two new profiles! See you again next week.

Yes! I'm still in the running for America's Next Top... I mean... Paragraph 12 for Kylun: "Brian Braddock even allowed Kylun to bury Sa’Tneen is the Braddock family, a beautiful serene spot on the estate." A little confused by that sentence.

Added the missing word right now. It's the Braddock family grave. Thanks. BTW - I hope that you also noticed that you finally got what you asked for.... namely being able to see more of the silhoutte of #7. :-)

Yes, I noticed. :-P I'd say it's a little late for that now. Regardless, I still have no clue who he could be. I can only hope my guess was correct.

Aww, pool longshot3, you called yourself out! Hope you fare better on the rest of the entries.
Anyway, great job on these Profiles, guys! I especially love the entry on Kylun, one of my favorite dark-horse characters. How sad that he wound up living in his parents' basement. The limericks in the sidebar are an especially nice touch.

Well I can confirm that "pool longshot" (is he taking a swim, or what ?) overall scored more points than a few people currently listed as still being in the race for UXN's Next Top Fan.

What's with the quotation marks, PL? I can't help it if I'm hip to the new slang and you aren't.

It's funny, I'm still in it, but only because Peter went with 2 of the 3 that I got correct in the first week. I know for a fact I missed all the other ones besides the obvious one.

This is so exciting even though I'm pretty sure I won't be in the running for long...
Cannot wait till a specific profile is released so I can make a thread professing my love and adoration for him/her. Definitely looking forward to reading up on these two in the meantime though.

I was really really really really certain on all except #7 and #3, maybe even #5 and #8, man it took me awhile to realize those were swords, and of course, ive never ever (I dont think) read an issue with Kylun in it, but I swear I've at least seen the name before. Cool thing is that I get to read his new profile and its a brand new story for me

I looked at Kylun and went "Crossed swords? Who had those?"
and that was it. #8 is one I'm not certain of but I have a good idea as to who it is. There's not many possibilities.
