So over in the Unusual Suspects II thread, we've been joking about how there are just some actors, present & past who are just *perfect* to play a particular character.  Now unlike other movie casting threads.... this one has a twist.  You can pick any actor at any age/point in their careers you want.  So despite the fact they may be too old now for the role, you can still toss them in as your perfect choice.

For example...

Cher from the Oscars in the 80s = perfect Lilandra Neramani

How Angela Bassett was not cast as Storm has always shocked me.

Deborah Ann Woll for Rachel Summers or a young Jean. She should get cast if only because she actually reads comic books.

Leslie Grossman or Kaitlin Olson doing a comedic take on Dazzler would just be hilarious.

Kaithlin Olson as Dazzler in a comedy would be hilarious!

She's got the moves.

She's a fine dramatic actress

And to top it off she has Dazzler raw sex appeal.

@ Blanchett. As a kid all of my friends swore up and down that Angela Bassett was the only person who could do Storm justice. I stand by that.

Josh Holloway.

Agree with everyone who said Angela Bassett should have played Storm.  Why that never happened is a mystery to me.

Josh Holloway would have been the best Gambit ever, too.

Lilandra: Catherine Zeta Jones, perhaps?

Vulcan: Karl Urban

Felicia Day would make an awesome Rachel, I think.

Oh, I would love Felicia Day doing that.

Grace Jones could still play Frenzy, she doesn't appear to have aged...
Marie from Roxette as Ariel

Tricia Helfer could be a darn hot Emma...

Indira Varma as Dr Rao

Monica Belluci is Seline...

Emma Stone as Rachel.  Or Kitty.  She'd be great playing either one, really.

This!

I have always believed it would have been such a marketing miracle! (Although Kylie's songs are far superior. Well, most of them...)

The perfect Kitty Pryde for me would be Anna Kendrick... she has the right combination of girl-next-door looks, humor and feistiness for the role.  Plus: She's Jewish!  And then there's the other Wolvie sidekick... X-23.  Was there ever a more perfect casting choice than Summer Glau as X-23?!?  Fox should be making an X-23 TV series as we speak...

Yeah, I came in this thread to suggest Justin Theroux as Pete but you beat me to in, Binaryan.  Every time I get a chance to play in an RP as Pete, it's Justin.

Gaspard Ulliel would be a fantastic Fantomex.

Perfect choices so far (IMO, naturally):
Grace Jones as Frenzy
Angela Bassett as Storm (I remember saying this to my friends in high school -about 17 years ago)
Josh Holloway as Gambit
Kylie Minogue as Dazzler
Summer Glau as X-23 (I can see no one else, really)

Other suggestions:
Armie Hammer as Angel
Michael Jai White as Bishop
Joe Manganiello as Colossus
Uma Thurman as Emma
Dave Franco as Iceman
Zachary Quinto as Northstar
Zoe Saldana as Cecilia Reyes
Gabrielle Union as Monet
Eliza Dushku as Rogue

EDIT:
Ziyi Zhang (where'd she go?) as Psylocke (?)
Milla Jovovich as Domino (?)
Zac Efron as Cannonball (?)
and lastly, cute little Paul Iacono (from RJ Berger) as Anole!
