I'm not sure how many of you here watched  Avatar the Last Airbender cartoon but Nick premiered the sequel series Legend of Korra over this weekend. So far.....very interesting.

It's definitely a different world 70 some odd years later. Republic City has that Hong Kong feel, of a mysterious and dangerous city behind the bright city lights.

Metal-bending cops, Pro-Bending sports, a class war of sorts brewing between benders and non-benders, all centering around Korra, the new Avatar who brings new meaning to the word 'impatient'. Big%20smile

With Katarra still alive, her son Tenzin mentoring Korra, and Toph's daughter the head cop in town, it'll be interesting to learn how Ang and the others may (or may not) have guided this new vision of the world.

I like it alot...it respect the original brilliant series by giving us a real organic extension of that series.

I love how the world has changed and I really really love the pro-bending sport.

I'm SO EXCITED FOR THIS. My little sister got me into the original series, and my boyfriend and I have literally been holding our breath for this to come out. I just think the writers make the most exciting, interesting plotlines with extremely compelling characters. Glad to hear it's off to a good start.

I get the impression of the 40s during this show. The radio broadcasts of the arena games are cool and exciting.

Tenzin's kids are funny and little devils. Although I thought I heard Katarra mention a brother or a sister for Tenzin. So Ang and her had more than one child. Interesting....

I just can't wait to learn the backstory, to see how this city was established, to what purpose, to see what happened to the others.

Intriguing revelation. How can he adapt a technique that only the Avatar should be able to perform?

Love the Chi-blockers. Reminders of that girl assistant of Zuko's sister (Man, I need to re-watch the original show now to catch up)

If that was the voice of Lance Henrickson as the bad guy with the electric batons, then this show just 1000% cooler. Big%20smile

Hey Cyke try nOt to double post...

Id say more like 1930s Hong KOng. Ive always seen the Water Tribe as the Inuits, Air Tribe as Tibetan, Fire Nation as Japan and Earth Nation as China.
