Back again from Marvel (and DC) Omega, with something new from me up last night. It's Runaways #7: Club Busting Part 2.
Check 'er out if you've been reading, because more hints are dropped about Cyanide, there's an awesome fight scene, and Geoff Wilder shows us how big of a jerk he really is. So yeah, there it is.

Once again I loved this issue . I love how your Runaways is becoming a lot different than Marvel's version. It's really cool. The addition of Primo to the team and the twist for how Chase ends up is really well done. The series really stands on it's own now and is sort of emerging from the mainstream titles shadow. Cant' wait to see what else is coming down the line

20 Days Later:
Runaways #8: City of Demons (Hunters of Bounty Part 1)
The City of Angels becomes the City of Demons when Master Pandemonium, y'know, loses it! Did the Pride make a mistake by sending dangerous villains after their children? (Uh, duh!)
Thanks, and any/all feedback will be appreciated. I know that some of you aren't happy with the Omega sites, but try not to take that out on me? Please?
Thanks again. Hunter.

Runaways #8:
This series contiunes to be really entertaining and encompass everything I love about Runaways, yet at the same time be different than the mainstream title.
I loved the Villains you used in the story. Espeically Slyde , I love all those D to Z list villains out there. The battle scenes as well were really good. The kids are good in action. I can't wait to see where the cliffhanger at the end of this issue goes. Can't wait till next months issue

Alright, I read the latest two issues - 7 and 8. And there really isn't a whole lot of critiqing I can do. The writing in both issues is solid and well done. The ongoing plot remains basically the same and I have to admit - I like the fact that the Pride is still an active part of the Runaways lives. They make excellant sympathetic characters, both as heroes who want to protect their children but great villains cuz of how far they're willing to go. Excellant work on them.
Molly's dialouge seems to be a bit off to me, not very 12 year old ish. However, as I'm not terribly familiar with 12 year olds, it might just be me.
That said, the OC characters are great. Although they technically already existed, the Falcone brothers are interesting additions to the cast. I like their powers and their mentalities.
One of the things I really like is how easily you seem to damage the main characters. Like Primo's fight against the StripperClubChick - slashed AND stabbed! Or Nico's damage taken during her fight against Master P. It's something I'm going to have to adopt myself. ; ) Really makes me fear for the characters.
Oh, and I liked the use of Breaking the Habit as well. Big LP fan.
Otherwise, solid work.

No, more like you're one who gives honest feedback alongside praise. But I like it when you give the praise, too, though. :-/
Actually, I'm just kinda happy someone other than Scott (whose hand I hold as he reads it to make sure he is :P) read it. Thanks, seriously. :D

I'm reading it through, 1&2 done. I'll post feedback when I'm done
EDIT: Just general here really, if you want more detail I'll go into it later/talk on MSN.
So anyway. The first arc was a little slow and IMO didn't live up to BKV''s but hell who does really? There were a few things which seemed a little off to me such as Topher coming out of no where for half an issue and then going away. I would have just left him out of it for now if he couldnt be given a big role...these kids are just starting out so he is a big threat really. (Incidentally isn't gert Jewish and thus the Crucifix shouldnt work?) Molly was the one who seemed most off...I have no idea why she introduced herself as liking penguins?
Near the end of that arc however while you killed Victor early on to see the differences coming to a head later in the arc and in the next one was great.
you got the fallen angels and slyde into issues! I love the fallen angels!
Chase as a villain with Old lace...this is great!
You have made this version of RUnaways really cool.
keep up the great work.

I'm glad you liked it, Crutey. Thanks for reading.
As for Topher, that was just the warm-up. He's got a bigger role coming down later this year in the 2007 Runaways Annual, featuring a team-up with--wait for it--BLADE!

First off, I know I'm breaking the double-post rule, but considering this thread had reached the second page in the forum, and this is big, big news-- and it's something I felt I needed to say--I broke it.
First off, DC Omega closed its doors a few months ago. It's sad, but true. The internet doesn't seem to be able to support as many DC sites as Marvel ones, which is unfortunate indeed. There was a lot of talent there. However, the site still remains there with the old stories on it; no new ones will show up, though.
Also, Dino Pollard (formerly Associate Editor at MO), has stepped down because he's making the move from the States to Tokyo and doesn't expect to have any time. I'd like to wish him the best with that, and hope to see him back online one day.
But there's not all bad news. I'll be replacing Dino as the Associate Editor, taking care of such things as advertising, some editing, and keeping a basic lookout all around for the site.
So keep looking for more good things to come from Marvel Omega.
You won't be disappointed.

Phew! I am glad you posted this Hunter! I read Dino's blog and when he said he was stepping down, along with the fact that MO hasn't been updated for awhile I thought MO might be joining DCO in archive heaven!

it was this random choice thing he ran on DC? He would pick a character and you had to see what to do with them...he didn't like my idea...actually he just said about my lack of English skills in my pitch. I could have explained it was just notes but the rudeness rubbed me the wrong way lol

You'd be perfect to breathe life back in the dropped and left open and for a few years Captain Britain over there Crutey .
Ryan (the EIC), is a really friendly and enthusiastic guy and he is
full of energy for expanding and making MO better. And we got Hunter
there now which is cool too .
I'll be debuting my Champions title there hopefully within the next
week or two. One of the last titles that Dino accepted pitches for
before dropping out.

@Crawler
Congratulations Crawler.
I hope you can manage all this will still writing your own fics for both sides (this one and MO).
About DC Omega closing. I remember reading a comment by a fanfic writer some time ago (maybe on that Heros side) who mentiod that there is kind of a problem with DC fanfics because of something from the comics.
Dammit i can't remember what exactly that was but it was a really good explanation.

The reason DC comics is hard to keep up with in a fanfic uni is because most writers can't connect with them. A good deal of the characters at least to me don't seem human. Batman and Flash would probably be exceptions but stuff from Marvel every character deals with real life problems. Some people might have the same views as curtain characters and that could be why Marvel is so well received. I know the reason why I can write Arana so well is due to the fact each character is having real problems.

I agree. The general idea is that DC characters are icons - Marvel's are characters. Icons are boring, unchangable, and stiff, which makes them naturally hard to write.

I thought I'd posted this earlier but lokos like I havent.
Scott- I think I'll just stick with my own Cap at the minute.
Gibber- I think DC is where you want to look what with Detective Chimp and the Nazi Gorilla Vampire from the recent Spectre mini (Yes Vampire Nazi Gorilla) toss in the Ultra Humanite and the evil gorilla and we have more 'monkeys' than we can shake a banana at.
Anyway DC in general I think its only really Supes & WW who are not good characters relying on their icon status for too long...everyone else seems to have problems.
