Apologies people! Hope the little bit I said didn't give too much! I avoided saying anything direct, but have deleted it anyway! My bad!

Without giving anything away - I am a little disappointed with the character of Jesse. He had such potential and they just kind of threw him around & out. And I'm really excited for next year with John Stamos (YEAH Uncle Jesse!!) joining the cast & Santana/Britney becoming regular cast members. Now that we've heard Santana belt it out, it's time for Britney to have a solo :)

I think they've said that Jesse will be probably back at some point, due to them being really impressed with the chemistry between him and Lea Michelle. But The Groff is in London doing a play from August onwards, so I guess it won't be next season, certainly not the first half, anyway...

Chris Colfer (Kurt) on a BBC talk show (I don't know the guy, so my UK peeps help me out) - Pretty impressive.

The first half of the season was just fine. But I actually hated the second half. It was boring and the song choices became worse and worse each episodes, and the story became more and more pointless.

I agree that the show kind of starting buying into it's own hype and a few of the episodes in the second half of the season were a little lackluster, but I have faith they'll get back on track for season 2.

I disagree. I like the themed episodes, and I think the best all season has been Dream On with NPH. They do seem to have a problem with repetitive story lines. Every episode either deals with Rachel being obnoxious, Kurt being gay, or Quinn being pregnant. It's as if the writers are afraid we're going to forget everyone's tokenism.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A few things I'm looking forward to next season are the full-time reintroduction of Terri as Finn's mentor, Brit and Santana as series regulars, hopefully with their own storylines, and the episode that's supposed to exclusively feature original songs. I'm also excited about the new main characters. There's supposed to be an R&B love-interest for Mercades, a Footballer boyfriend for Kurt, and a country singer rival for Rachel, who is supposed to be Christian. According to Ryan Murphy, she's going to be a positive example of Christian values, and the writers have been doing plenty of research on Judaeo-Christian beliefs, so as to gear up for a confrontation between this new character and Kurt, because she will have a problem with his sexuality at first. So, excited for that, as I can't remember there was a Christian main character on a TV show.

@Laudo- Are you speaking specifically someone who is a "devout" Christian or someone who has traditional (i.e. Western traditional at least) Christian values? If its the first then its quite a few sitcoms with shows where a family is Christian and attend church (King of the Hill is my favorite example), although to have one that is conservative Christian hasn't been seen since 7th Heaven. If you talking the latter then thats the majority of television.

No, I'm talking about the 7th Heaven-type Christian who are very religious and committed to their beliefs. I hated 7th Heaven, but I guess that is the most recent example of what I'm talking about. Harriet Hayes from the short-lived show Studio 60 also comes to mind.

Ohh gotcha...then yeah I'm not sure if there haven't been characters with those type of beliefs/feelings (don't watch all of TV) LOL but I'm sure as far as entire shows go yeah 7th Heaven was the last one...

I like your King of the Hill analogy better. As someone who lives in Texas I can tell you that's pretty much what Texas Southern Baptists are like. I loved it when Bobby joined a rebellious Christian Rock Band and Hank told him "You're not making Christianity cooler you're just making rock and roll worse!"
Technically the Simpsons are Christian and go to Church every week.

King of the Hill is one of the few shows I don't watch, but maybe I should start, as half my family is Texan Southern Baptist.
But to get back on topic, I think I may have shed a tear or two when the club sang To Sir, With Love. It was the perfect song for the moment, and it was so adorable.

@Laudo I didn't mean that all of the episodes in Season 1.5 were lackluster, and you hit on the moments I was really talking about - Repetitive storylines (Rachel = Obnoxious, Kurt = Gay).
I was also very happy with the way the season ended.
**FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN THE FINALE - SPOILER**
I think it gives them something to achieve next season.

Okay, so, having recently watched the series all the way through, I'll admit, I'm a fan. Here's what I liked; -Sue. She's just genius. I felt that at first the subplot with her Downs Syndrome sister was a bit heavy handed, but it kind of worked well and made her more than a one-note character. -Brittany. She's hilarious and steals every scene she has a line in. -Rachel. She's just hilariously obnoxious. On one hand you want to slap her into silence, but on the other, you can see that her obnoxiousness is just her way of expressing how driven she is. -Artie. I felt his characterisation was a really well-done way of showing how difficult it can be for someone who is disabled to fit into main stream education and activities. -Santana and Mercedes-- both have amazing voices and are really good actors. - The cover of Poker Face. As most of you know, I HATE Lady Gaga, but I LOVED the version that Lea Michele and Idina did. It was just so different to any version of the song I'd heard, and I really enjoyed it. -The Madonna episode. And I also don't like a lot of Madonna's music. - Emma-- I felt out of all the characters, she developed the most. From being a total wuss in the opening of the series, to actually going into Figgin's office and yelling at him in the finale, it just showed her character going from a pushover to someone willing to stand up for herself or others without overdoing it.
Things I'm on the fence about; -Mr Shu-- the actor is brilliant, but I hated the fact that he went from being so faithful to his wife to being such a manwhore. It felt to me like they didn't know what they wanted to do with the character, and as a result, he just kind of flip-flopped from being likeable to being kind of a douche, to being likeable again. His 'life-lessons' in particular felt heavy-handed at times. -Puck-- By no means the best actor, but I really like his voice, and he's hot. But he's also very much a one-note character. (I know Brittany is too, in fact, I know most of them are, but his just seemed more obvious to me for some reason)... but he's HOT. -Tina-- She's just there. She never seems to do much other than in 'Theatricality' and 'Dream On', and it bugs me slightly. -Figgins-- sometimes he's funny, and other times he just feels forced. Special guest stars-- some were awesome (NPH, Idina), others were just awful (ONJ, Eve.)
Things I didn't like; Auto-Finn-- Why hire an actor who looks the part and is a passable actor, at best, but can't sing or dance. The auto-tuning wasn't even subtle, it was just ridiculous. And when he wasn't auto-tuned, he had this weird lisp thing going on that wasn't there when he spoke. Auto-Quinn-- Can dance, can't act, can't sing. Moreover, the continuity with her pregnancy was ridiculous. Literally, she can appear in one scene with a bump, and in another without one. Yet she'll be wearing the same outfit. I would have thought that the people in charge of wardrobe continuity would also have realised that she needed padding to look pregnant, but apparently not. Kurt-- He has a great voice when he's not doing that weird falsetto thing. I also wish that just one of his storylines didn't revolve around his sexuality, when, especially in 'Theatricality', it was done in such a heavy-handed and insulting-to-the-intelligence way. Overall, his character grated for me, and I hated his scenes. Jesse-- Hated the character. The actor was good (didn't feature on my gaydar for one thing), but the character was just... again, something that was kind of there, but not doing much. Mike Chang and the other guy-- if they're not going to sing a solo, at least give them more limelight than a few dance moves... I can't help but feel that a few lines might have been good.
Overall, I enjoyed it, I just hope they fix some things before the next season. Especially Auto-Finn, because it just sounds jarring and detracts from the overall enjoyment of the show IMHO.

So like boot I recently picked this up. After my MadMen run through (which was hard for me to watch, as the women on the show are so mistreated and they take it and it never gets better; rough) I needed something light. I'd heard Glee was good from nearly everyone I know; most of my friends are obsessed, but I was obstinately staying away from it, as, despite being a musical lover and theatre nerd, I did not want that to fall into "High School Musical" standards, and the music I'd heard from the show (namely Finn's first song) was so auto tuned and ridiculous I couldn't stand it.
I fell in love. Sue is the funniest character on TV. Rachel is so unlikable she's likable, and her enthusiasm over the stupidest things reminds me of the prima donna's I deal with. While the show is gimmicky and the music can at times be down-right embarrassing or cringe worthy (anytime Shu raps, or the time where Finn sings to a sonogram or Quinn's parents), it is lighthearted and funny. I thought I hated Kurt, but his scenes with his dad (brilliantly played by Mike O'Malley, who should've won the Emmy over Neil Patrick Harris, who just plays the same jerk he does on his own sitcom) won me over. Plus, he's so fabulous. And Mercedes, Emma, and Artie really grow as characters throughout the first season and each get great moments. Emma is understated and the actress should be more recognized for how believably she portrays Emma's quirkiness; her one liners are as good as Sue's. Also, Kristen Chenoweth is awesome and anything she does is top notch. I actually like Jesse a lot too, as he is the male-version of Rachel basically, which made me laugh a lot too. I'm excited for the premier of season 2 on tuesday!

Hehe I cannot get into Mad Men. There is just something so preteniou about the show. I like Jon Hamm in everything I see him and his appearances on talk show make him seem like the nicest guy and I also love Christina Hendericks(Mrs. Mal!) but I dislike everyone else in the cast. And the creator of the show seems like senior Douche.
And Booty, I agree with everything you said, especially about the dislikes. I feel like they want us to root for Kurt but I just can't. Like what he did with Finn. He was changing his whole life around, manipulating their parents and what not because of his crush and what Finn said to him was wrong but why didn't Kurt get any slap on the wrist for being such a manipulative tool?
It's a problem I have with Mercedes too. She can be such a bitch at times. Like when Rachel find out Quinn's baby wasn't Finn's and Rachel didn't want to lie to Finn and she was like "Oh you better not tell him" and then again with Qunn when she told Puck to not be involved with Quinn's baby, when he was genuinely interested in it. I mean for the most part I like Mercedes but it's like she and Kurt get soo many passes on things they should get called out on.
I also wish they'd show more Tina.
More Brittney of course.
I don't know. I wasn't a fan of the second half. I felt it was too gimmicky and the plots were all over the place. WTF was with Jessie? WTF was with Rachel's mom. Oh so she rejects Rachel because she's too old for her? Really? Rachel doesn't need a mom because she's 16 years old? That was soo stupid.

I agree. I'm sorry, but if a real person acted the way Kurt fif in order to manipulate someone into spending more time with them, they'd be branded as mentally disturbed and people would be keeping an eye on them to see if they were going to start drowning kittens.
I don't think Mercedes was being a bitch when she did that though. I just saw it as a "Quinn hasn't told Finn, she's giving the baby up so (in teen terms) where's the harm in him believing it's his?". Yeah, kind of douchey, but ultimately it was Quinn's choice. Yeah, Rachel did the right thing, but her motives weren't exactly pure. It was to get with Finn (who, FYI, I don't see the attraction). If someone else had told him, someone like Mercedes, Tina or Artie, it would have come across as someone looking out for a friend, but Rachel saying it (and ditto if it had been Kurt), just smacked of the lowest attempt to get into someone's pants and was a horrible thing to do.

Last night's episode was sheer brilliance. After last weeks lackluster show, I'm glad that they brought back the absolutely fun aspects of this show. Brittany of course stole this show (though to be honest she usually steals all of them) and it was nice to give her a little spotlight. However, Warning to Fox: We CAN have TOO much of a good thing. Let's be sure to keep Brittany where she works: in the background with random non sequitors that make us laught uproariously. Continuing to put her in the spotlight can ruin her much like Kramer, Karen Walker or Michelle Tanner.
However, I'm really starting to get greviously (sp?) annoyed with Mr. Schu (no matter how sexy he is) - I mean he's like the WORST teacher ever. Completely inappropriate and just....well what exactly does he teach???
