ok, ok... Intellect and knowladge are different... so...
Cable as stratergests? he's had access to all the knowladge and used it.
It Cpt America had access to Cable's stuff would he be even better?

I think those that talk about characters having more specific fields of interest are right. Prof X can creat anything he imagins... not exactally but that is how its been discribed. But he's been focused on philosophy and social issues rather than Stark equivalent armor and weapons or Richards science adventures.
And in that way we believe as a species that "the pen in mightyer that the sword" Stark just created a sharper sword while Prof X was writing letter to the editor.

Now i'm not saying Xavier is smarter than tony or not - i'm just stating how i see it.

Reed is definitely #1.   He was probably already able to claim that before the accident, which he theorized enhanced his mental prowess even more.    A lot of this debate is comparing engineers with psychologists with surgeons with chemical biologists.     How do they even compare?

As for Parker, I don't even think his scientific genius steps to Alistair Smythe, who I still wouldn't put near the top.      Peter is a bright kid, at least able to comprehend what guys like Reed and Octavius are talking about, but not able to innovate anywhere near that level (well, the web fluid is an exception).
Donny, you're out of your element!

I disagree. Peter's not just a bright kid, intelectually, I think he's got the potential of the 'super-brains'. If it wasn't for personal situation, I'd imagine he'd be right up there with the best if a couple of factors were actually taken into account. One, he's never really dedicated any amount of time properly to science or industry. Reed was at doctorate level before his career as a super-hero began, same with Pym, etc etc, and two, his age. Which I understand doesn't mean actual intellect, but does mean he doesn't have the experience of the field which would broaden his knowledge bases which is why it might seem he's not done these things that others he's compared to have. I'd say his intellect his right up there - but a lot of it is pure potential.
