Thanks Mackers! Happy to see you're likeing the MLFers. Yeah you'll see consequences for their actions and how it affects their families for sure. And yeah I'm missing the four too, haha. I'm looking forward to end this arc so I could write them. They all appear in the next issue though. As for Mercury and Rockslide. Yeah I had a plan for Mercury but it just wasn't important to the overall story of the season, so I had to scrap it.
And Zaladane is only the warm up. Oh boy! Looking forward to more :-D. And some Hellfire if you would be so kind :-p.

Finally I got some time to read! I'm sorry its taken me so long to get around to this but its been on my list for ages. I loved getting back into these characters, I missed the kids and their relationships. I love James and Owen, I love their relationship! I get a real Hulkling and Wiccan vibe from them but with more character depth to it. Dennis and Marley are great too but for some reason I just don't see it lasting. I really like how Becca has matured as well, her little scene with Forge and Mystique was particularly good at doing this I thought. You wrote all the older X-Men well, I really liked what you did with Frost. Anyway good job, the story is looking great. Only worry I have is that for all his devious sneakery I worry Bogan may be going down too easily, but I will wait and see what happens next! Off to read the next one! woo!

Aw, thank you Mackers! As a YA fan, it's really REALLY cool to hear you say that you think Owen and James are comparable to Wiccan and Hulkling!

Can I add that if you break up Darley, you and I will have problems of the violent kind?

Lol, whoa whoa whoa Xtreme... jumping to conclusions much? However, I can see what Mackers is saying. Their entire relationship span out of one drunken fear-fuelled night... that doesn't necessarily make for the strongest relationship.
But sometimes it can.

I'm not. Marley's going to be killed off.
I'm joking.
Dennis is.
I'm still joking.

Awesome ending to the arc here. Loved the kids really getting to grips with their powers and just really proving themselves in a battle. They were really well written the fight scenes, reminded me a lot of Crutey's style for fight scenes which is something I really enjoy. Though Emma was fantastic you did a great job with her character in this and the previous issue. Interesting to see her on the main cast, hopefully though she is not completely done with Scott. Looking forward to the mentors and kids catching up and interacting next issue. There should be some really interesting developments there. Also looking forward to seeing how you are handling Sage's recovery. Nice cliffhangers at the end. I sense a really cool arc coming up about Convert and his various demonic forms!! ;)

You mean Inferno V. 2? :)
I can't WAIT to get to that bit, however there's definitely some group dynamic fixing to be done before hand. If only I knew of a character EMPATHetic enough to turn up and help them out... hmmm...
Thanks again for the kind words, comparing my fight scenes to Crutey's I will take as a MASSIVE compliment, and I'm glad you enjoyed my Emma! Truth be told I'm trying to hit that middle-ground between Morrison Emma and Fraction Emma, and it's SO difficult to do, so I'm very relieved to hear that you think I've done okay :)

X-Women #3
Long overdue on this review. I realy enjoyed this issue. The female dynamic you have set up here is still working really well. You are managing to bring a strong sense of their bond without it getting all feminist and man-hating. Good job with that. Alani was possibly my favourite this issue, you are doing a great job adding depth to this relatively unexplored character. Her dialogue while short is actually quite fun to read. Really interested to see her develop more, and it was great to see her reaction to her quite frankly vicious powers. Blink, Marvel Girl and Kitty were great too and I'm glad you are not ignoring or playing down the connection between Kitty and Rachael. Abby is a little off for me right now. I get her character and her motivation, but I feel her turmoil over her job and liking the girls should have played out more before she joined the group. While we all know she hated doing what the Initiative was making her do I don't think she is a strong enough person to just say no to Tony Stak even if she is on another continent. I think eventually she would but I fell it should have taken her longer. Anyway now she is part of the team I'd like to see her military training vibe with how Blink was brought up. I think of them all these two will be the edgiest member of the team in that respect. Both have killed so they have that in common. Will get to the next issue soon!
X-Women #4
Nice to see how some of the threads are tying in, brings a more coherent feel to the series. Getting Fabien's backstory was great and knowing there is a bigger secret out there behind him is interesting. Still waiting to see where Modred and Sublime will come in, especially after that little vision they shared. The characters continue to interest me, Alani again being one of my highlights. Though I will say if she starts coming up with all the ideas it might get a little tiring. The other X-women there, namely Kitty and Blink should at least be seeing some of thes things Alani is coming out with. Abby improved a little for me this issue, she was more self conscious, and more the outsider this issue, which I feel should be natural for her at this point in the story. Selene and Kevin were unexpected but interesting additions to the numerous badguys showing up in these pages. Look forward to the next one!
X-League #1-2
I really like the cast you have selected for this team. The character dynamics all work really well. You have Betsy and Warren who have some history, Paige and Warren who have some history, Nori and Julian who don't really like each other and now Amara as well, the loner or outsider of this group. While I thought Julian and Nori joining was quite natural I thought Warren's departure from the X-Men and joining with Betsy was a little contrived. I can see how she could influence him given their history but I just don't see him to be the sort of person who would just abandon the X-Men like that not to mention cut a lot of their funding. He's not Beast. Still I like that he is in this group. Waiting to see more about why Husk will decide to stay and I like what you are doing with Amara. As for bad guys, we have an interesting collection with this Dealer guy, and the arrival of Shinobi on the scene. Though why on Earth he would go and speak to Scott I am eager to find out. The tattoo guy sounds interesting, looking forward to his involvment with the team. Also I think you write a really good Emma and Scott. Their relationship was nicely displayed here I think.

Don't forget to put your solicts either in the e-mail or the solict thread. Not many solicts this time around.
Also let me know what you think of the new "Pages" for bigger stories(COTA and X-Gene). I tried doing it in what I felt were natural acts for both stories, as Laudo had suggested.
Now for feedback!!
Champions of Erith(For Mitch and Ben)
KOG #10
Awesome issue. I liked that it was basically a Jean story. I think you write a great Jean. Also liked you you Erithirized in this issue, Cloak and Dagger and Mimic, who you know I love. The fight in the issue was well done even though a majority of it was told off screen I think it worked as again, this was a Jean story. I did not see the plot twist at the end coming. Brilliant work there. The Black Talon is also proving to be a worthy adversary. I like how you basically have them wanting to use the mutants instead of exterminate them. That’s a nice twist. Can’t really think of anything negative to say at this moment about the plot or the characters. I guess at times I felt the dialogue was a bit clunky, but it was only when like henchmen one or two talked to a Knight, which I don’t mind as much because well they are clunky guys, between the cast the dialogue flowed just fine. I also liked the twist with Khert.
Do we know what happened to Xavier? I can’t remember.
Ghost Rider
Good first issue, I like how you set it up with the Ghost Rider being a myth and them the tale being told. It was all very interesting and good and it fits well in the Erith-verse. I’ll admit I got a bit bored here and there because well, I’m not even a little bit interested in the Ghost Rider or whole shtick. It just never really interested me, not in comics, cartoon or movie. But that’s the problem with him, it’s a tricky character and think it will take me a while to get into it as you make it your own.

HOM For Laudo
Good issue. Does a nice job setting up the plot and I think all your characters are very realistic, though I have to say pretty unlikable. Well not all, I liked Pietro and Crystal but everyone else was sort of jerky and self centered. But it’s realistic that a bunch of politic types would make a tragedy like Haiti about themselves, about how it could be bad for them and how it could be good for them. So while they were unlikable, their motives hit true to who they were. I rather the characters be real than constant likable, so through I found them unlikable, I liked that I didn't like them in this situation, if that makes sense. So really great job with that! The plot was good, definitely building up to something. I liked the ending a lot. Didn’t see it coming and definitely interested to see where it’s going.

New World: Files Of
Interesting read. I like how this is a world similar to 616 but also very different if that makes any sense. It has as an original spin to it. Overall it’s basically just a background issue. It wasn’t exactly exciting or anything but I guess it wasn’t supposed to be. Sometimes I think this issues should happen maybe after a few issues are realized, so we are learning background on characters we are already attached too. I was sort of detached throughout. But yeah upwards and onwards with the series.
New Worlds
Nice introduction here. I thought it was all done really well. Everything flowed nicely, from the plot to the dialogue. For an X-Man story they were very absent, which was fine because I thought you did a good job with the Fantastic Four and Captain America, though his quip about Captain Britain seemed like a strange, low blow from the upright Steve Rogers. But that was my only complain there. I’m liking the story and the world where it takes place and am definitely intrigued by what’s going. What did Doom mean? Is something really big about to happen, cause I have a feeling it is. Again I like the inclusion of the other Marvel heroes, gives everything more of an epic feel. Again the characters were all done really nicely and I’m interested to see who the characters I don’t know who are(Rhona, Talbot) and to continue to learn more about this world, what’s different and what not. Interested to see where this story will go.
The only thing I have to say is, the X-Men part fell sort of flat. Even reading the background information made the reveal at the end just have no oomph. Everything is far too new for the Brotherhood or Juggeranught too matter to me in the least. It just felt like I was supposed to care more than I did. And how can I feel what the characters feel on it when it’s all still new to me too? Sure we have Files Of…but to me that’s just not enough at this point. That was very factual. And ending like you set up is more heavy on the emotion and again, like with the Files Of…there was just a detachment towards it.

X-Men : The Next Generation by Jesse Wesso
Nice first issue. Did a good job in introducing a few of the characters and where they are now. I thought your Beast really shone. You just got the character down 100% pat and that’s impressive since he is such a hard character to get due to his dialogue but you did really well. I also like you had his interaction with Trisha, she sounded with very realistic. She was a girl who wanted to do something with her life and had quite a shadow to live up to and that really came across. I liked the family affair that was the Summers family, that was nice to see. We didn’t get much in the way of plots until the end, not sure what to make of it yet really but I’m intrigued enough to read on. My only complaint would be Wolverine didn’t exactly sound like Wolverine. He sounded like an everyday Joe and not Mr. Gruff. But that’s really it. Great first issue and looking forward to more.

X-Gene by Boomer/Kevil Winslow/Polaris
Yay for the return of X-Gene. Nice to see you back Kev. This was a nice issue. I felt a lot happened in it but it never felt TOO pack, like too much was going on. I really like all your kids, though I do want to smack Kiden a few times but that’s just cause she’s Kiden I guess. I thought the beginning and the ends were my favorite parts. I liked the students fighting in the beginning but I really liked their little therapy, I thought that was really well done and it made characters like Parker sympathetic and revealed a lot of things about the other characters. The cast had great chemistry during that scene. They felt like real teenagers and real friends/frienemies/rivals/peers. I like Phoebe a lot, she’s definitely my favorite character. She seems to be fitting in the leader role well. I also like Gaia because she feels like the character who the readers can most relate too. She doesn’t want to be a superhero, she just wants to be safe. The battle scene was nice and well paced too. I sort of figured out what was going on with it before the reveal but still I enjoyed it. Polaris and Bobby were a bit tough on the kids but after their speech, I believe their actions made lots of sense. Big plus on the speeches by the way, really liked them. Nothing really negative to say, I liked this issue. I guess maybe a bigger recap would be nice. I’m trying to remember stuff about the X-Gene world and can’t remember a few things(like were the rest of the X-Men are. I think they are dead or were they cured? It’s been soo(too) long!

Thanks for the review XtremeOne, I know the issue was long overdue so I hope the delay didn't hinder the enjoyment to much. I'm a big Mimic fan and have been eagerly awaiting the chance to write him in a fan fiction. Glad you liked teh twist with Khert, after I wrote the previous issue I realised I had no idea what Selene's agenda was in recruiting Khert lol. As for Xavier, to jog your memory, after being attacked by the Black Talon the Knights raced back to the castle only to find Xavier missing. They found a message from him ordering them to stay away from the Black Talon, implying that they took him. It was revealled this issue that the BT does not infact have him, so either he's in hiding or someone else has him. Speculate away! hehe

Thanks for the review, XtremeOne! This is my first time doing a fan-fic or anything like this, an I'm really excited about this story. I've sent it to some of my friends and a co-worker, and most of them mentioned similar things as you. One said that the Wolverine didn't really sound like Wolverine. I'll definitely take that into consideration for the second issue which should be coming within the next week or two.
:)
Thanks again for the review!
As for my own little bit of feedback, for what it's worth, here we go (I'll edit in more as I have time to read):
New World, by Lee Austin
Well, an interesting introduction to a series for sure. For the most part, you write well, but I have to admit that there are numerous grammatical and typographical mistakes that made it somewhat distracting. I would suggest a proofread of your script, as most of these mistakes won't be picked up by a word processor. But enough of grammar! I also think that the issue might have been better finalized with the scene in the Baxter Building. The X-Men bit didn't really build off the momentum you had going previously. Aside from that stuff, the story truly was interesting and kept me hooked. I'm eager to see what happens in the next issue. Keep writing
Knights of Greymalkin, by Mitch Crane
Considering that this is my first time in here reading and contributing to THOIN, it's rather difficult for me to understand what's going on in your guys' stories. Fortunately, yours was very easy to get into, and I thoroughly enjoyed the story, despite not knowing the background. I think that's a sign of a good writer. I didn't necessarily HAVE to have read everything else to still be entertained by your story. I have to say, I love the KOG universe so far. Very unique and thrilling! Keep writing!
ps. thanks for your help in getting me started

X-Gene-- I really enjoyed this welcome return of an old favourite of mine. While I struggled to remember who some of the characters were at first, I soon got back into it and remembered them, and I don't think there was anything missing from this issue. Character development? Check. Intelligently written fight scene? Check. An actual sense of danger and that something awful could potentially happen and that these characters might actually be in trouble? Check. I thought Mistress was handled especially well, and liked the fact that she went from having a moment of self doubt in the beginning to coming across as a confident, fight to the death leader by the end, whilst still feeling organic. Well done, and I hope to see more of this. Like, now, bitch.

Thanks for the feedback, Josh and Daniel.
Josh - yeah, recapping will happen, sorta. Roman and I have an origins title in the works where we're writing the shiz that went down to create the Alliance, how Xaves and Mags were murdered, and what changes Emma made, and the attacks on the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, all that jazz and how it all worked.
As for Kiden... she's kinda the internal antagonist for now. At the start of the series (way back when, if you recall) she was one of the first students brought back, and she was on the initial New X-Men team set up by Iceman and Polaris. That just got ripped away from her, so she's totally pissed about it. Come to think of it, a LOT of the kids are pissed, and all for different reasons. But Kiden's interaction between Parker and Cordie is pretty fun to write, because Kiden just doesn't hold back. She has no behavior filter, she just acts on impulse.
Daniel - Mistress' doubt isn't over with, so be warned. She's so new to this and just has instincts to go on. She has no idea what the others think about what kind of job she's doing. The kids are on this ridiculous emotional roller coaster with everything that's been happening. None of them actually have any substantial bonds, which is why I'm really looking forward to the next issue of New X-Men. All this time, they really have only been shown well working together on the field. They all suck at being friends, and with no pending doom on their shoulders, it's like... well what the f**k, I guess we have to talk.
