Topic: DC related questions Posted: 26-May-2010 at 1:04am |

Since the factual back issues section seems Marvel-exclusive I'm asking here.
1) In Crisis on Infinite Earths John Constantine is seen having a drink with Steve Dayton. Had they met previously on-panel or was this just a random "let's get everyone in" scene?
2) I know DC has bought out then "absorbed" a few other comic companies into the "DC Universe". Can we get a full list?
3) Confused about the summaries I've read about Death of the New Gods/Final Crisis on one point. Are there ANY "New Gods" alive anymore? Cause somewhere it said the "Fourth Age" was over and a Fifth Age would start.

Alex I do everything like a hawk.
This isn't DC Comics -- Marvel continuity doesn't die out if you don't water it often enough.
The whole Batman idea is a very childish response to childhood trauma.

1) Rule of thumb for CoIE -- YES, it's a "let's get everyone in" scene. :-)
2) Early stuff:
Fawcett Comics (Earth-S, the Captain Marvel SHAZAM! universe)
Charlton Comics (Earth-4, Captain Atom, Question, Blue Beetle)
Quality Comics (Earth-X characters, Freedom Fighters, Plastic Man)
More recently
Wildstorm (one of the Image Comics studios, Wildcats, Authority)
Archie Comics (Mighty Crusaders, Shield, Web, Fly, Comet)
Milestone Comics (Static, Icon, Blood Syndicate)
I bet there's more.
3) Death of the New Gods and Final Crisis were meant to tie-in together, but last minute changes and confusion led to numerous glitches between different projects (see also: multiple deaths of Batman and Aquaman). As of the end of Final Crisis, New Genesis and the New Gods have apparently been reborn.

Milestone also brought in Static's rogues gallery. The Teen Titans have fought at least 1.

Random question that popped up.
Would Henshaw be able to see Mr. Terrific?

I'm going to go with yes only because Red Tornado can.

As long as Henshaw still has some organically-based senses (even if they are genetically extrapolated from Superman's Kryptonian Matrix), he should still be able to perceive Holt.
Red Tornado is an anomaly because he's a living elemental spirit cast into a mechanical body.

In Tornado's case he presumably has senses unrelated to his mechanical body/suit.

Not much. L.E.G.I.O.N. had more support from interstellar governments. The main difference is the base of operations. L.E.G.I.O.N. had a planetary base of operations, but R.E.B.E.L.S. has been forced to make do with whatever they can work with after the destruction of the planet base by Starro.
Both teams were recruited and lead by Vril Dox.

That's what I thought, hence why I asked the question.

Why do red lantern batteries have the typical spiggots on the base but not the top?

Probably because of the way their handle is designed.
Oh yeah, about tornado. He has some sort of senses unrelated to the metal body that are part of his actual innate nature. Not well explained though.

Wasn't Red Tornado originally a robot/synthezoid only with no Tornado King empowering him?
And wasn't "he" a sort of copycat version of Marvel's Vision, ya know the way both companies created their version of characters the other company originated?

No, Red Tornado was around first by a couple of months.

The red lantern handle shouldn't prevent symetriacal bases from appearing on the top and bottom. At least it wouldn't based off the replica that came with Dex-Starr & Mera.
