I really wish I had a teacher or two who would've given me these kind of tips. Thanks a bunch! I tried to use them some in my latest piece, Wasp.

My partner out and out disagrees with my methods, so for what its worth, the advice will vary wildly depending on who you ask. He firmly believes in wild non-linear shading, which drives me bonkers. If you have any questions or need advice, I'd be happy to help. -Swift.

Magneto's helmet is the main thing that looks wrong. the rest is okay.

I was kind of sloppy on that one. It did not turn out the best in my eyes. :-/

Love Wasp, Magneto reminds me of Joe Mad era Magneto, Fin Fang Foom is fine but I feel like something could be done to make him more dynamic. Maybe more shading on both him and the background or something? I don't know.
Oh and I concur that Medusa would both be a lot of fun for you and for us!

I like the Wasp drawing! (Even if I'm not a fan of the actual character). One comment is on the Magneto drawing, but you might find helpful for future drawings: Magneto's arms extend too far down. On an average human body, the elbows reach down to the bottom (sometimes a little lower) of the ribcage. http://blogs.abc.net.au/photos/uncategorized/2009/04/24/human_skeleton.gifFor skeletal reference work. I had made comments on human musculature but it's hard to work without a visual component: http://esoriano.files.wordpress.com/2007/05/human_body.jpgand for back muscles: http://www.healthyflesh.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/human-body-muscle-diagram.jpgI see you've started hatching and crosshatching more! Keep up the good work! -Swift.

Hmmm... Fin Fang Foom is not a snake. His back apparently bends in much the same way as a human's would. Maybe a little more but not that much.

I think I tend to women better because it's easier to do them with less detail, and I tend to do soft curves better than hard angles.

This is true, however I actually like this less than human rendition of Fin Fang Foom. It makes him a bit more alien and animalisitc.
I'm glad you're taking my requests on board (Mimic and Fin Fang Foom) .

That's a large part of why he has such an interesting head. His torso is the most human part of the character.

Well I would actually disagree and say his legs and arms are also very humanoid. I like that Ron's sort of got him walking up on his toes too, like certain dinosaurs.
I see the Medusa that's gon up, I like it, though she looks a little ditzy. She's twirling her hair and looking up into the sky. I would expect Medusa too look a lot more serious and regal. You did a good job on the facial features, I just don't think they're showing the right emotions.

I guess in regard to Fin Fang Foom I am trying to make one or more small adjustments to the characters, my own spin if you will. I always thought if Fin Fang Foom is a dragon let's make him a dragon! Why does he have this human torso? But yeah I can understand your point marhawkman - and I realize by injecting my own personalities into the characters ala Medusa I run the risk of detracting from their essential character. Then there is the fact that I am doing this late at night after a full day's work, so sometimes I am just being lazy. :P
Well anyhow - I will try to do better! Your comments inspire me to do better in fact!
Speaking of Medusa - her giraffe-neck was bugging me ALL DAY! So I uploaded a revised version tonight. Go check it out.
Enchantress will be a lot of fun arsenalloaded!
Oh also, I can't believe this thread made it three pages already! You guys rock! Here is the website again since it's been buried once more:

I think I need to request a goofy looking picture of Hercules, like my Avatar. And Just to challenge you again, Galactus' Herald Stardust would be interesting.

Hmm... FFF is often drawn standing on his toes. Why is he semi-humanoid? Um... because he's an Alien from Kakaranthara and not a real dragon?

Please loose the snide tone. Ultimately Ron can draw these characters anyway he wants. He could put Fin Fang Foom in a tutu and give him an extra head if he wanted too. Its all about practice and not about directly replicating a character.

It's cool Gibbering Fool. I asked for critique, so I don't mind people expressing opinions. :) But yeh, I may not draw every character as everyone would want to see them. Maybe I will do a more traditional Foom later though, he was fun to draw!
Did not do a request tonight, I did The Vision, but I'll get back to the list soon.
Hey great stuff ianinbetween!

Thanks AnnaRaven, loving your one a day challenge it's like having an Advent calendar, keep up the great work :) Might try something similar myself when I have a bit more time.
I have a request. Warlock from the New Mutants...he's always either really fun or a massive challenge to draw..or both!

Great work man! The pose looks a little awkward, but you did a reat job on the face and the shading.
