The games are out in about a week in Japan, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to discuss 'em with the fair few folk out here who, well, care. Rumor has it there'll be a total of 156 new Pokemon (more than any generation ever).

So, who's excited? :D

meh... I'll get it I'm sure.  It sounds good.  I might play Dragon Quest monsters: joker 2 more though.

I'm a jaded old-schooler - you only need the original 151. ; )

I'm sure I'll end up picking it up when it hits the States, but I'm not pumped.

Hadn't played any new games since Saphhire/Ruby until I picked up Diamond earlier this year...still want the Soul Silver/Heart Gold but will probably definitely pick up Black/White once my FA check gets here lol.

Wow I haven't played a Pokemon game since Pokemon Yellow, lol.  Tell me, with all these new pokemon they add each game, do they include the previous game's pokemon also? Meaning with this game they would have many hundreds of pokemon to chose from.

AH Pokemon.  I can remember when I was heavily into both Pokemon and Animoprhs, and I had the brilliant idea to combine the two in a fan fiction called Pokemorphs. I think I got one issue written lol

Depends on the games after. Usually there is a good mix of all the new one's and a good bunch to all of the one's that from the game before in the older game cases. Like in the Diamond and Pearl there are the new ones, but also quite a good mix of one's from the last few generations of games. Including some old standards from the beginning.

I'm looking forward to this, but like I was saying to Crawler EONS ago, I wish that for once there was a bit more variety with your choice of starters. Whilst I understand that water/fire/grass is the easiest combo to think of when it comes to a triangle of strengths/weaknesses, it'd be nice to see some variety... like maybe fighting/dark/psychic, or flying/fighting/rock...

I also wish they'd release a version where, like in SoulSilver, you can go back to previous game areas and work through those, too, extending gameplay. If you play it like you're meant to, grinding to level up, it can take over 30 hours to get a strong enough team to take on the Elite Four, and if you had to do that several times, with a different Elite Four for each area, I can't help but feel like the games would feel more challenging.

If you're interested in spoiling yourself, Serebii.net has a full list of types, stats, and sprites for the new Pokemon. Takes the mystery out of the game, though, so don't look if you don't wanna.

Now that would be very much an interesting thing to see added Das. Cause I have finished Diamond a few times getting the pokemon up to lvl 50-70 usually and then it's done...over...and for all that effort you sort of wish there was more to do. Besides then just start over from the start again.

I got Celebi last week...and the games are coming out tomorrow! We only have a few days to go get the new special pokemon from GameStop, so I think you have to put in a good 4 hours of game play on each before you can get it. I'm excited...I love the Pokemon titles.

I'd have posted here, but... I'm reaching the 24 hour mark of gameplay. Samurott is kicking some serious butt, and the Lucky Egg's early availability has rocked my team so hard off the charts.

Final team:  Samurott, Stoutland, Reuniclus, Chandelure, Braviary, and Gigalith.

In all seriousness, though, fair warning. If your team isn't level 65 or higher after the Elite Four, don't go into the routes you haven't yet unless you want your butt to get kicked so hard. I've gone through so many revives and hyper potions since the Elite Four. It's not even funny.

I forgot how much I HATE Dragon gyms. Who uses Dragons other than the Elite Four and the final Gym? Precisely no one. Which is why I always feel like the creators are being dicks by pretty much forcing me to have either an Ice or Dragon type on my squad. I DON'T LIKE EITHER. Ugh, anyway, my current team is Emboar, Zebstrika, Boldore (who I only just evolved because he was already carrying an evostone... jerk), Pansage, Swoobat and Seismitoad.

I'm thinking of restarting because of STUPID DRAGON GYM though.

The worst part is that Ice Beam's TM isn't available until after the Elite Four.

Did everyone download Victini via wifi? It's pretty cute and I like having it in my party...its ability ups the accuracy of the team so they miss alot less.

das, don't use Pansage/Panpour/Pansear....they don't learn very good moves and you have to evolve them with stones, so they stay weak longer if you are waiting for them to learn moves. Unless you plan on using a lot of TMs. I got both games...I'm playing through White so I can trade over what I'd actually like as my team to Black. I like to start one of the games and trade the starter over to the other and restart it so I can have all three starters between both games, so in White I have Oshawott, and Black I will play through with the other two. So far I'm in the big city with Victini, Dewott, Munna, Blitzle, Petilil, and Pidove as my team. I need a dark, fighting, and ground Pokemon though...since Victini is psychic I may replace Munna. I'm a little annoyed that they don't have better options in this game.
