What difference is there between these two's powers, if any, considering there main thing is to invent things? I know Jeffries seem to have some sort of mental control over mechanical objects as well (never read Alpha Flight) but is that it?
Which one is considered the "better" inventor ore are they equal in that department?

Forge is a pure inventor. He can envision new things but then has to take the time to build them the old-fashioned way, it's his ability to mentally skip steps that makes up his mutant powers. Jeffries is more of a pure builder and his power speeds this up greatly. As his newly posted Spotlight On... bio mentioned in the early days of Alpha Flight Jeffries had help from Roger Bochs as Jeffries wasn't very good at coming up with ideas.

Alex I do everything like a hawk.
This isn't DC Comics -- Marvel continuity doesn't die out if you don't water it often enough.
The whole Batman idea is a very childish response to childhood trauma.

Forge's power is purely cerebral, conceiving inventions through his mutant mind, but he uses normal human means to construct his machines. Madison's power is almost purely physical, constructing machines with his mutant ability but relying on a normal accumulation of mechanical skill and knowledge to guide what he creates.

Okay, so Jeffries is more like a human assembly factory, with some ideas of its own. Thanks!

The way I've always understood Jeffries' power is as a specialized form of telekinesis.
