1. A regular Marvel (616) Universe character: Gravity, just cause I love the character and he has a lot of potential that hasn't been fully tapped yet.
2. A dharacter from any other Marvel Universe (Ultimate, AoA, 2099 etc): Mimic (Exiles). While I liked Blink from AOA in Exiles, I really liked the Mimic as it finally gave a character from the background a chance to shine.
3. A regular character from the DC Universe, this can be pre-relauch or post: Power Girl, forget Superman it's all about Power Girl
4. A DC elsewords or alternative universe character (eg. DKR Batman or Red Son): Red Son Superman just cause it would be fun to play with writing wise.
5. A Vertigo or Icon character: Vertigo Animal Man, just cause the character is just really cool.
6. A Wildstorm character (before it became defunct): The Great Machine (Mitchell Hundred)
7. A Darkhorse, Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character: Invincible, another character like Gravity that is in the same vein of Spider-Man in being the everyman voice of the youth hero and such.
8. Literally any other comic character, you could have Tintin or Vladek Spiegelman if you really wanted. You can also double up on any of the above.: Mr. Terrific, a character that gets little love from a lot of people and would be tech support, and get to star in a good comic unlike the relaunch
2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe: 3. A regular character from the DC Universe: Riddler (technically he's a PI not a cop but close enough) 4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character: 5. A Vertigo or Icon character: 6. A Wildstorm character: 7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character: Robocop (has been published by Dynamite) 8. Literally any other comic character: Judge Dredd (rebellion developments)
needs finished....

Oh yeah Savage Dragon, I completely forgot about him, at any rate there's suprisingly enough police characters I might make a second squad.
Edit: Multiverse SWAT Team: 1. Regular Marvel (616) Universe character: Nova (Richard Ryder) 2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe: Punisher from EARTH-94157 (What if the Punisher became an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D) 3. A regular character from the DC Universe: Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner) 4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character: The Flash (Barry Allen) from JLA - the Nail, I assume he has the same police investigator background as he regular counterpart. 5. A Vertigo or Icon character: Sherriff Bigby from Fables 6. A Wildstorm character: Farenheit from Stormwatch 7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character: Savage Dragon 8. Literally any other comic character: Smax from Top Ten
Some pretty heavy firepower there in case the first team needs assistance.
Neat ideas. :D My first thought when I saw the Title was Savage Dragon, but this works too.
*looks up Dragon* O_O!!!! Okay... I guess I'll use him for the Image character slot....
I made my picks based on whether they have any credibility as an Evil overlord. Being a bad guy is a must, but so is being a leader on a large scale.
So redone:
1. Regular Marvel (616) Universe character: Victor von Doom; the ruler of Latveria
2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe: the Susan Storm/Madame Hydra from Exiles; in her world Hydra controlled most of the Earth(IIRC)
3. A regular character from the DC Universe; Mongul; interstellar tyrant and would be conqueror
4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character; Superman (Red Son); took over most of the world while trying to create Stalin's idealistic society
5. A Vertigo or Icon character;
6. A Wildstorm character; Helspont; Daemonite overlord headquartered on Earth.
7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character; Kurr(Savage Dragon before he became amnesiac) he was the leader of an alien race before being deposed and abandoned on Earth.
8. Literally any other comic character; T. R. Edwards (from Robotech: Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles) a human who wanted to give himself the power of the Invid and took over an entire solar system for his dark experiments(that eventually worked).
yeah I wanted guys with diverse abilities, most have some form of super-strength, but otherwise they have a variety of powers.

I could see Doom and Madame Hydra plotting against all the others, and each other.
I was thinking about a Multiverse Police Squad, a bunch of heroes whose job it is to bring in criminals, who've tried to escape across worlds. So this is drawn from a bunch of police officer heroes and given a badge that doubles as a teleport.
1. Regular Marvel (616) Universe character: Bishop, before he went evil, the District-X version, an experienced police officer with training and a valuable powerset.
2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe: Jessica Jones (What If Jessica Jones Had Joined the Avengers?). Cheating a little here, but this a version where Jessica Jones became a trained S.H.I.E.L.D. agent (and married Cap). Her regular powerset, S.H.I.E.L.D. training and experience with dealing with Super-teams.
3. A regular character from the DC Universe: Dick Grayson (as Batman), I chose him over Green Lantern or another character mainly for his reaction to the following character. An experienced police officer and a Batman. I'd like to see him carry his service pistol with the costume, as now he has the legal authority.
4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character: Bruce Wayne (Thrillkiller), from a strange elseworlds where there was initially no Batman, rather Batwoman (Barbara Gordon) and Robin (Dick Grayson). The Waynes were killed by their servants (minus Alfred) and Bruce lost his inheritance, becoming a police officer and then eventually Batman after the death of Robin. This Batman is a trained police officer primarily. It would be interesting to his and Dick Grayson interact. I'd like to see him carry his pistol as well, it'd be interesting to see two armed Batmen with police badges.
5. A Vertigo or Icon character: DeenaPilgrim (Powers), a tough sarcastic female cop with no powers yet trained to deal with super heroes.
6. A Wildstorm character: Hellstrike (Stormwatch), an Irish member of Stormwatch and former Scotland Yard Inspecter. A sentient gas being and living weapon.
7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character: Sarah Pezzini (Witchblade), I don't actually know much about her, but I know she's NYPD homicide detective and the Witchblade is a useful weapon against Supernatural entities.
8. Literally any other comic character: Joe Pi (Top 10), a character who unfortuantely joined the series quite late, but brillant none-the-less, a Mecha robot with multiple police related abilities including being a mobile crime lab, programed to show compassion (responding isn't everyone?), humour and even the ability to turn a blind eye to a breach of the rules, while still retaining his Robotic voice. He's great because he's not a robot who is a man like Atomic Robo or the Vision, he's more like Bender from Futurama, plenty of character but still a robot primarily.
A team with some firepower and plenty of talented investigators.
1. Regular Marvel (616) Universe character: Victor von Doom 2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe: the Susan Storm/Madame Hydra from Exiles 3. A regular character from the DC Universe; Mongul 4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character; Superman (Red Son) 5. A Vertigo or Icon character; Helspont 6. A Wildstorm character; 7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character; 8. Literally any other comic character; T. R. Edwards (from Robotech: Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles)
Not sure about 7 or 8 yet...

Ah! I had a very similar idea the other day. Almost like a League of Extraodinary Gentlemen of the comic world.
1. Regular Marvel (616) Universe character – Captain America (Steve Rogers): Every team needs a leader and a straight man and in my eyes there is none better than the man himself. I think in this instance I like him better as Steve Rogers: Super Soldier though.
2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe – Wild Child (AoA): The wild man. Unpredictable, savage, but loyal bruiser of the team. Has bonded with another team member since Victor isn't around, but we'll get to that.
3. A regular character from the DC Universe – Robin (Time Drake): This was actually the toughest one for me. I wanted a technologically savvy person and it was a real toss up between Tim and Barbara but I went with Tim to add some youth to the team. He's a little bit of a wise-cracker and serves as someone that Steve would want to look after.
4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character – Solomon Grundy (DC Animated U): Ok so this one is a little cheap since it's not TECHNICALLY from a comic but I wanted a visually striking powerhouse on the team. After his episodes on JLU I actually started liking/sympathizing with him and his search for his soul and the weird relationship he had with Hawkgirl so....yea....deal with it haha.
5. A Vertigo or Icon character – Rose Red (Fables): A character from one of my favorite series, she comes to the team with her trusty enforcer the fire breathing raven. She's handy with a gun, practically immortal, and has a rebellious personality which is nice to have in a team dynamic. She would be Grundy's replacement for Hawkgirl, give Steve a run for his money, and serve as a person of adoration from one of my other cast members.
6. A Wildstorm character – The Doctor (Jeroen Thornedike, The Authority): I wanted a magic user and couldn't decide on any major ones from either Marvel or DC. He's the enigmatic one of the group,
7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character – Michonne (The Walking Dead): A badass warrior woman from a dystopian undead world. The serious one of the group she carries her katana with her everywhere and has inherited Kyle's leash now that Victor isn't around. Having Grundy and our last teammate around makes her very uneasy coming from a land of undead creatures but she has to learn to adjust.
8. Literally any other comic character. – Spike (Buffy): This one was also a little tough because of other characters I wanted to include, but I didn't want to necessarily pull two from the same universe/company. He's a vamp with a soul, definitely a powerhouse, and also comic relief. He's give Steve crap and have a thing for Rose Red as he like's strong women.
Base of operations:Keyhouse (Locke & Key): Just thought I'd throw that in there for fun.
Originally I was going to use Yorick in place of Spike as he's also comic relief but I decided he really wouldn't have fit into the team as much as the Spike does.
Thanks for moving/fixing my OP. I thought I’d add my reasoning for my
initial choices
1. Regular Marvel (616) Universe character – Cable, kind of the unofficial leader (probably
because he’s my favourite character), at full power he’s no slouch, even without
he’s got a wealth of combat experience and technological knowledge. Because of
his time travelling and other adventures I figure he can also to get adjusted
to new worlds quickly.
2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe – (Exiles) Blink, she’s a veteran of reality jumping and a
pretty experienced leader I could see her and Cable working together quite
well, she also functions as a group teleporter.
3. A regular character from the DC Universe – Zatanna, she’s a very powerful sorceress and a
relatively good team player (unlike Constantine). She can help deal with mystic
problmes
4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character – Batman (Kal-El)
from Speeding Bullets, if you haven't read it, basically Kal-El gets found by
the Waynes and raised to be their son, Bruce. The full powers of Superman with
the background and motivations of Batman. The reason I picked him is obvious, I
get my Superman and Batman rolled into one. I’d find his interaction with
Zatanna might be interesting as she reacts to him.
5. A Vertigo or Icon character – Mazikeen Lightbringer from Lucifer, probably
the most powerful and uncooperative member of the team, I could see her wanting
to (perhaps rightfully) lead the team and clashing with other personalities.
But at the end of the day she’s a great warrior, has all of Lucifer’s powers
and will protect those she’s allied with.
6. A Wildstorm character – Jakita Wagnar from Planetary, just because
of the fun she’d have kicking the crap out of multiple universes worth of
badguys.
7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character – Max Damage from
Incorruptible. A reformed villain with an awesome power (he gets stronger,
faster, more invulnerable and even smarter the longer he stays awake at the
cost of his sanity). Adds some power, ocaisonal brains and some who’ll, albeit reluctantly
do whatever it take to get the job done.
8. Literally any other comic character. – Atomic Robo, as the smart guy of the team, with multiple science
degrees acquired over his years and of course all the abilities that come from being,
well an Atomic Robot. It’s been hilarious to see his complaining about laws of
science being broken or stuff not making sense.

1. A regular Marvel (616) Universe character - Ghost is a character that I've grown to really enjoy during his time with the Thunderbolts. He is a completely paranoid, but is qualified to be the team's tech guy.
2. A dharacter from any other Marvel Universe (Ultimate, AoA, 2099 etc) - Blink from AOA. The whole Exiles comic was fortified by great authors and by her character for a One Hundred issue run not counting the two follow series that didn't get much of a following. She is used to fighting in any situation and has the ability to bring any group of personalities somehow work together.
3. A regular character from the DC Universe, this can be pre-relauch or post - Catwoman in DCnU. She feels like a female James Bond in the reboot. She brings the stealth factor to the team whether the team needs a thief or a spy. I feel she could handle either role well.
4. A DC elsewords or alternative universe character (eg. DKR Batman or Red Son) - Red Robin from Kingdom Come. Dick Grayson is always a great character. He also has leadership skills along with Blink and Angel. I wanted a regular guy that would fit on the team, but he can still hold his own even without powers.
5. A Vertigo or Icon character - Animal Man from DCnU/formerly from Vertigo until reboot. He is a great animal based character that brings a very diverse power set for the team.
6. A Wildstorm character (before it became defunct) - Voodoo from DCnU/formerly from WildC.A.T.S. She is mystically powered and gives them another Supernatural character on the roster that can help with any Arcane threats that the team could face.
7. A Darkhorse, Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character - Invincible. He's a power house that is willing to fight even his own family to protect his planet. One of my favorite characters outside of Marvel and Dc Universes.
8. Literally any other comic character - Angel from the Buffyverse. He's undead vampire who fights creatures who go bump in the night. He's a great character to add diversity of threats to this team. He also has some leadership skills.

Betrayal Game Characters: Cable, Captain America, Iron Man, Jed Guthrie, Nightcrawler, Sunspot, Archangel, Wolverine, Cyclops, Bolt, Pixie, Wither, and Iceman
So I’m not sure what forum this should go in, but based on
the excellent “make an X-team” and “make an avengers team” threads, I decided
to think bigger. This is a Multiverse Defense Team, assembled by a vast cosmic
being (you) to defend all the universes. Like the Exiles but drawn from an array of
comic book companies.
Each character’s powers work in different universes (Dr Strange can still do magic, The Flash can access the Speed-force).
Heroes, villains or anyone, just as long as they get the job done. They can be pulled from anytime in their history too.
These are the rules:
1. A regular Marvel (616) Universe character
2. A dharacter from any other Marvel Universe (Ultimate,
AoA, 2099 etc)
3. A regular character from the DC Universe, this can be
pre-relauch or post
4. A DC elsewords or alternative universe character (eg. DKR
Batman or Red Son)
5. A Vertigo or Icon character
6. A Wildstorm character (before it became defunct)
7. A Darkhorse, Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character
8. Literally any other comic character, you could have
Tintin or Vladek Spiegelman if you really wanted. You can also double up on any
of the above.
I'll post mine once I've done some thinking.
Edit:
If a character can fit in multiple catergories go with whatever you
want. Constantine can be Vertigo or regular DCU. Any of the Boy's could
be Wildstorm or Dynamite. Apollo could be DCU or Wildstorm.
Also feel free to complain about my arbitary rules.
My choices
Regular Marvel (616) Universe character – Cable
2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe – (Exiles) Blink
3. A regular character from the DC Universe – Zatanna
4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character –
Batman (Kal-El) from Speeding Bullets, if you haven't read it,
basically Kal-El gets found by the Waynes and raised to be their son,
Bruce. The full powers of Superman with the background and motivations
of Batman.
5. A Vertigo or Icon character – Mazikeen Lightbringer from Lucifer
6. A Wildstorm character – Jakita Wagnar from Planetary
7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character – Max Damage
from Incorruptible.
8. Literally any other comic character. – Atomic Robo
Join the effort to convince Marvel to give the Uncanny X-Students their own monthly series...
Re-Launch NEW X-MEN!
1. Regular Marvel (616) Universe character – Emma Frost: Every team needs a telepath. I was going for a kind of militaristic, government sanctioned team, and Psylocke seemed like the obvious choice since she's a ninja and all, but I liked Emma on the team better.
2. A Character from any other Marvel Universe – Spider-Man (Marvel Noir): I really like the character concept, and he's just cool to look at. It's like Batman meets Spiderman.
3. A regular character from the DC Universe – Martian Manhunter: He was a detective and police dude on his planet, so he has the whole police experience thing, and he's a bad arse mofo.
4. An Elsewords or alternative universe character – Power Girl: I think she's way cooler than Superman, and more willing to do what she needs to do in any situation.
5. A Vertigo or Icon character – Hellblazer: They'll need someone who is a specialist on the supernatural and John Constantine is awesome.
6. A Wildstorm character – The Carrier: IT COUNTS AS A CHARACTER! They'll need a base to work from and nothing's cooler than a GIANT sentient space ship.
7. An Image, Dynamite, Boom!, or Topcow character – The Magdalena: I don't know Topcow characters very well, but she seems pretty cool. She's also on the supernatural side, so she can help John. I think there'd be some good back and forth between them too.
8. Literally any other comic character. – Pirate (WE3) Awesome robot armored rabbit. He was thought to be killed in WE3, but maybe whoever is running this team teleported him away. He's there by choice now.
