What is the time paradox surrounding the Nth Man's origin?

Not Nth Man's origin, per se, but the origin of his earlier incarnation, Blacksun.

Raymond Lightner conducted an experiment in harnessing stellar energy. Decades later, his adult son Thomas Lightner recreated his father's work to perform the same experiment. The end result was time and space folding in on itself, causing both father and son to merge into a single super-powered being named Blacksun, with the power of a black hole. Blacksun fought against heroes assembled against him simultaneously in both time frames (Doc Savage in the 30's, Thing and Human Torch in the 70's), until his/their powers overloaded, returning everyone to their proper place in time and leaving the Lightners powerless.

Ah. Well, John and Alfie were orphans abandoned on the steps of an orphanage as infants. The series ended with Nth Man transporting the two men back in time, reducing them to orphans, and leaving them on said steps. Thus their entire lives are lived in an endless loop.

Ok, I re-read those issues and the woman who transported the infants to the orphanage spontaneously combusted since she couldn't exist in the same time as her younger self. I know Marvel physics is inconsistent to say the least, but why would she be destroyed when arriving at the moment she was born? Wasn't Dr. Nemesis present during his own birth without anything happening?

Nth Man did not take place in the regular Marvel Universe. Different universe, different rules.
