ALTERNATE VERSIONS

In the Age of Apocalypse, Unus was chosen by Apocalypse to serve as one of the strong. He operated as a high-ranking Prelate leading the Infinites' clone-troopers on behalf of the Eternal One. Once Apocalypse conquered America, the flatscans left in their borders were nothing but gristle for the genetic vats to produce more Infinites. Unus was in the process of overseeing the culling of Seattle when the mutant Bishop interfered with his efforts to dispatch the last surviving humans. Bishop’s token resistance was soon joined by the more formidable arrival of Magneto and his X-Men. Unus was killed by Iceman when he overreached and tried to attack Magneto directly.

In the Ultimate universe, Unus was a minor member of the Brotherhood of Mutants, seen consulting with Magneto once Magnus regained his memories and began a war against humanity. He was later seen in the Savage Land refuge when the Avengers came searching for the truth behind Scarlet Witch’s death. Unus was overconfident when he pitted his strength against the hammer of Thor. The Asgardian God of Thunder broke through the mutant’s field and pummeled him to death with Mjolnir.

In the House of M, Unus and Blob were seen as two of the earliest recruits for Magneto’s Brotherhood. Under the governance of Vice President Trask's policies, they were among hundreds of mutants in America freed from a mutant detention center in Marysville by Magneto. They joined his growing movement and fought by Magneto’s side until the Sentinels were defeated, Trask was killed, and the American President surrendered the country to mutantkind. In the years that followed, more of the world slowly fell under mutant domain. Unus was reassigned to Exodus’s command down in Australia, and took initiative to round up the “norms”. Unfortunately for him, Bruce Banner had come to Australia to find peace, and the Hulk took issue with any threats to his new tribe.

In the Moira IX and Sins of Sinister timelines, Mister Sinister created a powerful Chimera mutant named Rasputin from five X-Gene samples. Unus’ force field contributed to Rasputin along with Colossus, Kate Pryde, Kid Omega and X-23.
