Issue Numbering:
#1-35
Overview:

Following his redesign in the Avengers Forever maxiseries, this was the second ongoing series featuring Genis-Vell following in his father's identity as Captain Marvel. Written by Peter David (his first of several series with this character), the title had his customary humor and tone. David did allow Fabian Nicieza to write one issue (#14) in order to tie up loose ends from his previous series, which had been canceled after six issues.

Mirroring the relationship between Rick Jones and Mar-Vell, Genis-Vell was molecularly bonded with Jones throughout this series and the next. Title was canceled with #35 to be relaunched as part of a sales contest between Peter David and Bill Jemas, which David easily won.
