Direct continuation of the previous series, with Peter David remaining as writer. Series mostly followed Genis-Vell's descent into madness following his access to his father's "cosmic awareness" abilities.
Although humor remained with the series, the tone was much more serious than David's customary work. In its last issue (#25), Genis and Rick Jones were separated once again.
